Results of Armenian Cypriot tennis players in the latest tournament in Cyprus

Christos Kyrillou and Edmond Aynedjian won their first Men’s Doubles Pancyprian tennis tournament championship at the Eleon Grade 1 event in Nicosia.

En route to the finals they defeated the number one seeds Christos Gregoriou  and Andreas Stylianou and in the finals they defeated the number two seeds Melios Efstathiou and Nicolas Campbell, players to whom Edmond and Christos had lost to in the men’s singles event.

12th seed Grigor Jamharyan was a finalist in the Boys Singles under 12 event, defeating top players in his category. In the finals he put up a brave fight against the number 1 seed Stylianos Christodoulou eventually losing 2-6, 2-6. One of the upcoming tennis players to follow is Ara Mahdessian, who showed great resilience but was denied a spot in the quarter finals of the same event.

We are certain that we will be hearing more of these upcoming athletes in months and years to come.
